Matt Noble - The Most Famous Man You’ve Finally Heard Of!
Written by: Jacque

Matt Noble grew up in a musically gifted family where
all 4 siblings were self-taught musicians, each playing two or more
instruments. By age 11 Matt was playing the ukulele and autoharp.
However, after only a few short months he moved onto the guitar. While his
parents encouraged Matt’s interest in the guitar, even arranging for a few jazz
guitar lessons, Noble was compelled to follow his own path and the lessons were
quickly discontinued.
While it was always presumed that Matt would have a
career in the music industry, nobody imagined the multiple accomplishments he
would achieve! A quick Google search of Matt (Matthew) Noble reveals
links to a sculptor, doctor, rally car driver, chess champion and even an
Australian film actor. Up till now, remarkably not a link or photograph
about the inexhaustible Matt Noble of the Lower Hudson Valley!
Matt’s website reads like a “who’s who” in the music
industry and across all forms of mass media and broadcasting. He has
platinum records with Rihanna and Rod Stewart, as well as mixing and recording
credits with Michael Jackson and The Beastie Boys. He has written and produced
music for movies, TV (McDonald’s, Amtrak, Discovery Channel) and received an Emmy Award for his work in television. He has also had the
opportunity to work with many of his favorite artists such as Procol Harum,
Southside Johnny, AWB and Elliott Murphy.
As a man who wears many hats (recording/mix engineer,
songwriter, musician and producer) Noble considers himself to be a songwriter
first and says that New Zealand singer/songwriter Neil Finn’s exceptional gifts
for lyric, melody and chord structure make him the songwriter he would most love
to collaborate with. As a professional staff songwriter for Chrysalis, Sony and
Novation Music for almost 10 years, Matt has evolved from being a “journey man”
songwriter, with titles and tracks at the ready, to the more organic approach
of letting the music and lyrics evolve until he hears the whole song in his
head.
Matt is currently a songwriter, producer and band
member (keyboards/vocals) of the Americana/Rock band The Burbans. Working
at The Loft Studios in Bronxville, Noble first did some production work with
The Burban’s original writing duo, Rick Agosta (guitar/vocals) and Mike Cerullo
(bass/vocals) in the early ‘90s. 20+ years later and back at The Loft,
Noble reunited with the duo and they began writing and recording the song
“Blame Someone” for the first of their three albums “Bleep the Burbans”, with
“Burbans 'n Blondes" and “Burbans On Ice” to follow in 2015 and 2016. The
trio is constantly working on new material as well as perfecting their live
show with ace drummer Andy LaDue on board. In 2014, Noble and Agosta
incorporated Big Fan Records (BFR) LLC. The two have been building a small
record empire at the label where “talented people that we like get a chance to
make the records that we’d all want to listen to.” Since its inception, BFR has
signed such up-and-coming acts as Jodi Melendez, Michael Hammond,LTL and naturally,
The Burbans!
